South Carolina has one meeting a year where any member of the organization is allowed to attend (spouses are always welcome).   This meeting is usually at the same place and time around the 15th of April.  At this meeting, officer re-elections, nomination of volunteer to go to the National BVA conference is chosen and the budget for donations to our local blinded support groups and agencies are discussed for distribution.  Below lists this year's scheduled annual meeting. 

Annual Meeting

      The South Carolina Regional Group of the Blinded Veterans Association (SCRBVA) meeting this year was a conference call. The Conference Call was available for all members within South Carolina. The meeting was held on 15 April 2009 at 2:00 pm. The call did not last no longer than 45 minutes. The following officers were elected:

President - Cheryl Gajadhar
Vice President -  Alexander Beresh
Secretary/Treasurer - Clarence Huggins
Chaplain - Ken Clark
Sergeant of Arms - Eddie Cantril

No one volunteered to go to the National BVA Convention in Portland, OR. South Carolina will not be sending any Primary/Alternate Delegates. There were no special speaker. Additional comments addressed were:
(1) Donated computer monitor and adaptive software in Patient Resource/Education Center (WJB Dorn VAMC) – pending hospital approval.
(2) Newsletter will be out in May 2009
(3) Members update by email of deaths
The meeting was then adjourned.
